Functional And Kinetic Training with Rehab (FAKTR)

FAKTR (pronounced like “factor”) is an evidence-based and research supported technique that uses soft-tissue techniques alongside rehabilitation exercises to treat musculoskeletal conditions quickly and effectively. This technique uniquely treats patients in their most painful or provocative position to decrease the pain and discomfort as quickly and effectively as possible.

FAKTR is helpful in treating injuries related to auto accidents, work, sports, and even post-surgery.

What is FAKTR?

FAKTR provides both a system for analysis and a framework for guiding treatment, in order to maximize relief and improve function in the shortest period of time possible.

Your body will send pain signals at different levels of functional load from sitting at rest to performing your sport, and everything in between.

This system involves challenging the body and provoking the muscles, tendons, and ligaments at varying intensities to determine where your functional limit is. This gives us a clear idea of how far you are from your goals and helps create a clear and direct path to improving tissue resilience and pain-free function.

There are a variety of tools used in conjunction with FAKTR including kinesiology tape, IASTM, resistance bands, joint flossing, cupping, manual therapy, and corrective exercises.

Common conditions that respond well to Functional And Kinetic Training With Rehabilitation:

  • Ligament sprains
  • Muscle strains
  • Tendonopathies
  • Bursitis
  • Fascial syndromes
  • Edema
  • Nerve entrapement syndromes
  • Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
  • Scar tissue/adhesions

This protocol can be used on all ages and body types to help improve your recovery time, reduce your pain, inflammation, and stiffness and overall improve your mobility.
